The 2nd Golden Days Tango Festival in Herceg Novi, Montenegro

28 September - 5 October 2010

Our next Tango Festival is held between 28 September – 5 October 2010. This time the main tango course is led by Andrey Eremenko & Yulia Papilova. Each day the afternoon lessons will be devoted to general principles of a particular theme and the evening lessons to sequences & musicality. The group will be divided into Level 1 (beginners & intermediate) and Level 2 (higher intermediate & advanced).

Evening class	Tango-walk: step, dynamics and embrace flexibility; followed by practica.	Standard elements in non-standard embraces; followed by practica
Day 2 / 30 September Afternoon class	Disassociation: ochos, complex turns	Circular voleo technique: how to really dance it, not just go through the motions.
Evening class	Ochoes in sequences – fast or slow; musicality. Followed by practica	Circular voleo in sequences – fast or slow; musicality. Followed by practica.
Day 3 / 1 October Afternoon class	From Sacadas ...	Advanced gancho technique.
Evening class	… To Ganchos. Followed by: MILONGA	Gancho: more dancing, less acrobatics; musicality Followed by: MILONGA
Day 4 / 2 October	Day off, for optional activities (including tango classes), followed by: MILONGA
Day 5 / 3 October Afternoon class	Giro on leader's axis	Complex decorations in giro
Evening class	Giro on follower's axis Followed by practica	Circular dynamics out of the axis (colgadas). Followed by practica
Day 6 / 4 October Afternoon workshop	Musicality for all levels: dancing pauses, decorating pauses, continuity of the dance.

About Andrey & Yulia

Andrey Eremenko and Julia Papilova studied with Sebastian Arce, Mariana Montes, Mariano Chicho Frumbolli, Julio Balmaceda and Corina dela Rosa, Claudia Kodega and Esteban Moreno, Pablo Inza, Geraldine Rojas and others. Before relocating to Montenegro they taught at "Tangocity”, one of the most famous Moscow schools. They’re members of AMBCTA (ASOCIACIÓN DE MAESTROS BAILARINES Y COREÓGRAFOS DE TANGO ARGENTINO) and organizers of “San Telmo» Tango School in Podgorica, Montenegro. Julia has been dancing since childhood and has 10 years experience in classical choreography. She graduated from Moscow State University of Culture and Arts. Andrey came to tango from the background of martial arts and his long time interest in Argentine culture and tango music.

Andrey's knowledge of human body rhythms, Julia's dance experience and their attitude of care for the traditions of Argentine Tango, have contribute to their own teaching method characterized by simplicity, efficiency and systematic effort towards their students’ advancement. They teach in English and Russian.

"We do not force our students to memorize a lot of sequences. We try to teach them fundamental principles of body movement and partners’ interaction within tango aesthetics. For us tango is a wonderful way to create something together, a language of communication across all kinds of boundaries. If tango needed a motto, we would choose this: Tango - a dance of strict rules, with the most stringent saying - be free together."

The entertainment programme will be finalized at a later date.

Partner is not necessary, beginners welcome.
